Meet Lauren & Kate

Lauren and Kate first met through their children, who attend the same school. In 2019, their paths crossed at a Parent Association meeting when they were both asked to serve as Room Parents. What began as shared volunteer work quickly turned into a meaningful friendship as they spent time together supporting school fundraisers and community events.

When Lauren later invited Kate to co-chair the school’s Fashion and Shopping event, they discovered something bigger than a successful fundraiser—they shared a passion for bringing people together, supporting small businesses, and creating experiences that strengthened their community.

After serving on the Executive Committee at their children’s school, Lauren and Kate realized they wanted to do more. They decided to take their energy, creativity, and love for community beyond the school walls. From that vision, The Lighthouse Shines Foundation was born—built on a desire to create a greater impact and support communities in meaningful ways.
